In 1967 when I was working for IH, we had sold either a new 806 or 1206. It was using some oil a couple of months after it was sold. The IH service manager got me to help him. He reved the diesel wide open with me holding my finger over the hole in the intake. He raised his hand with a small amount of bon ami in it. The engine sucked it in, we both though the engine was going to die. It didn't, kit reved bacak up and heard nothing further from it. I've never had guts enough to try it on my own.
