Cub Oil pressure regulating valve

I have a Cub engine that I am rebuilding. I am having a hard time removing the oil pressure regulating valve. I have removed the hex nut that holds the pressure regulating spring in and the spring itself, but I cannot figure out how to get ahold of the valve to remove it. Since the engine is disasembled I really can't use air presure to blow it out because it leaks out everywhere. Any suggestions?
