This knocking sound occurs in all gears and neutral. I have replaced the spline shaft bearings and seal with a speedy sleeve.Gears are good , no missing teeth or excessive wear. The transmission rotates freely by hand with a noise every two revolutions of the spline shaft. the knock stops when the clutch is used. I've replaced the cover/shift forks assembly with one from a tractor without a knock. (no help) The transmission shifts normaly. The noise seems to be louder near the oil slinger gear. The oil slinger rotates at 1/2 the speed of the spline shaft, this could be the reason for the frequency of the knock. Could this be the reason for the knock? Can you test or inspect this gear without dissasembling the trany and differential? After spliting this tractor three times I'm getting good at it,I wish it was as easy to get it back together.
