I believe on the earlier A's and B's the seat was not padded. The padded seats can be identified by the rolled edge where it crimped onto the padding. The earlier seats had just a plain, unrolled edge. Of course, I've been wrong before. My '41 B has an unrolled edge on the seat, while my '45 A has the rolled edge with the rotted remnants of some sort of cover.
