being a parts dealer, I can honestly say that it is the law of supply and demand. The accessory items you are mentioning are rare, and in NOS condition, that makes it even rarer. Most of these accessory items have a high failure rate: Cork floats and guides fail in the fuel guages; hour meters fail due to corrosion; and in the case of the precleaners, the H and larger ones stay solid, but most of the A-340 ones fail due to the flange being so light in regards to the weight of the items. Finding NOS specialty parts is tough, and therefore the prices are going to be high..
