A properly timed MD will have a slight miss and white smoke at high idle,but that should clear up under load.If it continues to miss and put out white smoke you are looking at low compression,leaking injector nozzels or timming to far advanced.White smoke is atomized diesel fuel that has not been ignited in the combustion chamber.
