Time to get a good dog, not a vicous dog but a good one. A noisy dog is best. My dog is noisy, annoying sometimes in evening, he will be laying in front of TV, and makes mad dash to door wanting out and noisy. He is not vicious but would be intruders don't know that. Most dogs know who to trust and who not to.

I once had a neighbour, dog didn't like, everytime he came around, dog would get noisy. I found out some time later that this neighbour had a conferintation with my dog in farm buildings when no one was home, and my dog could indeed be vicious. Apparently he still has marks to prove the same, I rather doubt he will try that.

Another item I have noticed in rural areas re; breakins, they never happen where there are noisy dogs. Vicious dogs may get injured or killed, a noisy one will just let the whole neighbourhood know something is not right.
