If you did get rid of this tractor, would you get another? If the the answer is yes, then you should fix the one you have. When you get it fixed, you will know what you have. If you dump this tractor and buy another, you may be right back to where you are now. I usually buy tractors that are in poor condition if the price is right. It is my beleif that it cost just as much to rebuild a blown engine as to rebuild a running engine. The price I pay for a tractor is based on the assumption it needs major work. After all these tractors are 50-60 years old. If it turns out it does not need major work, then I figure I came out ahead. Beware of the "Dupont Overhaul". Good Luck, K-Mo
