Nope , I never tried it. However I was told that it worked really well. The old timer that told me how he did it said you start at the edge of the crack,drill a hole ,tapp the hole,then install a stud with locktite in the hole. Drill your next hole so that it removes part of the stud you just put in. Keep working your way across the crack in the same manner until you have covered the crack completly. Of corse you have to cut off and grind down each stud as you go. Sounds time consuming to me, but I guess if it's a hard to find head and and it's not cracked up to bad. It might be worth a try.
