Never worked on a Cub cadet, but at a big auction, I saw some transmissions from regular Cubs and the cadets. The housing was obviously the same basic casting, but the housing for one of those types of them had some extra dowel or bolt holes as best I remember. The gears- changed as set per good suggestion of George- should move from one housing to the other, but swapping housing from one type tractor to the other might involve some machining
