The 480 was the standard disc in this area for many years. Parts are still readily available even at parts stores. Bearings are cheaper in price than for other discs. Lots of people ran them spread out for a seedbed disc and folded up for a cutting disc. Don't run the gangs loose on any IH disc because it will wear the spool halves and the sleeves that the bearings run on and the gang will be shorter when you tighten it. That makes the bearings have a lot of side stress and shortens their life if you don't readjust all the hangers. Also, if you replace the blades, be sure to use the crimp center blades and not a regular curved blade because it won't take the ground correctly. Been there, done that!
