The information you recieved from Sammy and Dave is very accurate. You did however ask about engine hp and in the days of letter series Farmalls I doubt that engine hp was ever quoted. Those old tractors didn't have much load on engine until started to work. PTO and engine hp would have been very close. Today with power shifts, power steering, air, live pto. live hydraulics, etc. the difference is significant. I wouldn't be surprised if there are tractors out there today with a 15% difference between engine and pto hp. Don't confuse this with information Sammy and Dave gave you, being pto and drawbar hp. Drawbar hp is always less as pto hp is measured with tractor standing still. Drawbar hp is measured with tractor pulling and is less because of hp required to move tractor itself.
