Of the hundreds of IH 45 balers I knew of in my lifetime, yours is the only one I ever heard of that worked good. IH never sold many later model balers in our area. New Holland stold the show. We had a NH S69 after the 45. I have seen that NH go through a season and never miss a bale. We baled about 35,000 bales per year. You could put the Farmall 300 ahead of the S69 and it would bale 4,000 bales in a day and put them all on wagon with thrower. As I said in another post I don't think our 45 baler ever baled more than 30 bales in a row without missing one, and it wouldn't take hay 1/4 as fast as New Holland. In the 60s and 70s in my area you would see farms with IH, JD, AC, Ford, etc tractors and New Holland hay equipment.
