I recently rebuilt my 350 utility engine. It has a c-169 block, but everything in it was 175 size (Sleeves, pistons, wrist pins, etc.). My question is this. The pistons I took out of it were in bad shape, both out of round and the ring grooves were chipped. But the top of the pistons were not flat. They had a high rise shelf more or less (not really a crater). The new pistons that came with my sleeve kit were flat. Do these type pistons reduce the HP due to less compression?? The old pistons did have the bushings in them for the smaller wrist pins. New pistons I didn't need the bushings.
