I think that casting # you stated is really an original IH part #, ending in R1. If it is on the engine block, wouldn't that be the IH block part # ? I believe there were part numbers, AND casting numbers on the Farmalls of that age .... we have them on our Super C's and 350 tractors I know....age are from 1952 to 1957.
