I don't know how accurate this is, however in another discussion a guy claimed A and Super A although being both 113 engines The Super A has a heavier block and indeed the same block used in the 123 engine. The sleeves are a different thickness for the two. He also went on to say that thermosyphon will be troublesome with extra rpm, compression, hp, etc. that 123 creates. It sounded reasonable, although I am not sure he knew what he was talking about. Knowing the way IH did things, probably it is a few thousand Super As this way at end of production. Couple that with 50 years of people building 1 out of 2, salvage parts, etc. Who knows for sure?
