That rod is a piece of pipe and it bolts to the top of the cycl and the other end goes back to the bracket where the levers are fastened on the tourque tube. The cable runs thru the pipe and then back around the pulley that is next to the gear shift location then back to the bky that is part of the lever assy the end with a funny shaped piece goes in the pipe at the top of the cycl and the cable end with a 6in long piece with an eye is the other end. Your cycl end has a pipe on it with a piece that has a removable piece of metal with an eye . The cable goes thru the eye and the 3/8x2in slug goes in the pipe and that end is kept in place with the removable eye. Your cult is a model A-136 if it is pipe frame and A-138 IF RECT SAHPED SOLID STEEL TUBE. IF yours has two long pieces of square bar that are around 6ft long you have an A-437 multi row cult. Do you have the rear tooling also. I have the 437 and the 138 models and some parts. glad to help gene b I need some more clamps for the 437 if you have any extra.
