Not necessarily, over years many Cs have had water pump added. The four major castings on tractor being rearend-transmisson, torque tube, engine and front bolster all being interchangable and 50 years of building one out of two and rebuilds, serial and casting numbers only sure way. There was on forums just last week an example of numbers not working, or a good liar. At least I had six e mails with him and he never slipped up.
