JD, There are a couple of outfits down in Indy doing powder coat paint on headers for race and custom cars. It does last -- and ends up looking better than chrome, which blues with real lean engines. I've never seen anyone do that to a tractor, but imagine the principle is the same. As for temp -- I'd guess a Farmall's exhaust gas runs in the 1000 to 1200 degree range -- depending on how lean you set the carb. Circle track and emissions control cars probably run around 1300 to 1400 degrees. Dragsters and other guys who run engines for only a few minutes at a time get closer to 1600 degrees -- real lean. The powder coat holds up on dragsters -- so I'd guess there would be no problem on a Farmall. Steve
