Bill, don't know if this will apply to your situation but when I was driving heavy trucks I would occasionally break a front spring causing the front axle to shift to the rear slightly on one side. First indication I had was the truck would turn sharper in one direction than the other. A quick check with a tape measure might be worth your time. Hope this helps.
