In the 70s some guys put turbos on V* automotive engines. Kits were available to do it. The problem was that if you got detonation in the engine you could blow a piston very easily. As said I think they work best in diesels because of the high compression in those, the turbo pushes in extra air that. I would imagine that would help in a carburated engine also but not sure it would be that effective. Be a fun project anyway
