Chris, I agree with K.B. The 806/856 are probably the best tractor IH ever built. Now the wt. of a 806 will vary , acording to wheather it has a full set of front suitcase wts. (+ - 1500) Or how much cast iron wts it is carring on each rear corner. It could have as much as 1300 lbs on each corner (equipted with inside & outside after market rear cast wt) , Or it could have as little as 1 or 2 standard IH rear wheel wts on the cast wheel. example--- My 966 has 12 front wts + 1400 lb, after market rear wts over and above a non-weighted 966 @ 9100lbs shipping wt. I place my tractor in the 11000/11500lb neighborhood. I hauled mine 375 miles one way from Hollis OK. to 40 mi N. of Austin TX. I used a 3/4 4x4 pu. / a 20 ft dovetail tandem axel, dually trailer. Both axels were 10,000 Lb each. Only problem I had was my old 351 ford gas didn't want to go faster than 45/50 MPH . I didn't have a brake hookup on that rig, for I had borrowed the trailer from a neighbor. I would not go with out brakes if I had to do it again. The bed on most trailers are 8ft. wide. so your tractor should fit nicely. Measure from the center mark one rear tire to the other to figure out how wide your tractor is. TA....Torque Amplifer it is a gear reduction built into a tractor. When engauged it holds the RPMs at the same setting while reducing the speed and increaseing the torque so a plow or whatever can be pulled through a tough spot in a field. NOT ment to be used continously!!!!!!!!! Hope this helps! Good Luck, John A

Allis Chalmers ED40 - by Anthony West. Allis Chalmers as a tractor manufacturer in its own riht is but a memory. However the number of AC tractors still in existence today as either restored or unrestored examples is a testament to the quality of their products. This in itself is always apparent here in the U.K when attempting a purchase, as no matter what the model or condition the price will always be strong.
