It would depend on the rim size. oversize tires would make the tractor run faster. If the rim would be widened then the speed would not be changed as dramatically..My dads SM came with the 13-38's instead of 12 38s It really moved compared to the older Ms with the 12 inch tire but the rims on the SM were the same as the 12 inch tires. My Uncle had John Deeres and they always bragged about plowing in 3rd gear. well the Sm in 2nd easily passed the deere in third.
