I own a 350 diesel and it starts easy if I hold the heater button in for about 60 seconds. When I first got it , it was very hard to start and found out the wire on the manifold heater was burned into and had it fixed and it now starts easy.The smoke at idle is normal but after it warms up it shouldn't smoke much.I don't like that old Continental engine wourth a damn and they proved to be dogs and International stopped using them.The main problem I have with my 350 is that it vibrates a lot.
