The ammeter is not currently working due the last owner bypassing it. I need to go back and rewire the tractor. The lights are not connected either. I took the gnerator to a auto electric shop and they test the armature and teh field coils and found the armature was shorted. This was due to the armature dragging and causing some of the stacks of metal in the armature to rotate and short out the wire. I ordered another armature for $49 and also got a bushing and a bearing for the armature. This has been an expensive week for the Super A. New rear tire, tube and calcium $233. New u joint rebuild kit $22. New armature and Bearings $65. However the family does think the field looks better now that it is getting mowed. Of course the neigbor would have come and mowered it for nothing, but it would not have been as much fun. Fun is just expensive!
