On the oval shaped housing that is below the throttle there should be an AMMETER and a dial that rotates clockwise. The knob has four positions full counter-clockwise is the regular charge position the next click is for high charge the next click is for dim lites ant the last one is for brite lites. If you will get an owners manual it will have the wiring dia for the different systems as there were some different types of charging and lite systems. Yours appears to have the most common type with a cutout on the generator and should be positive ground. These were good systems and work well i have 11 A and Bs all are original types and no trouble. Good choice these are neat little tractors glad to help anytime just e-mail gene b
