PTO oil leak on lever actuator

On my 544 Farmall (not a utility), I have oil leaking out of the rubber boot around the PTO engagement post where the lever linkage is connected to the pin. Is it a big deal to change the seal, or do I have to pull the whole PTO assembly off? The post where the lever is connected does have a hex on it, like a wrench could be used, but I thought maybe I should ask before trying to take it apart. Any and all replies will be greatly appreciated.
