The instructions should walk you thru this. The res goes on the field term of the reg and the field lead from the gen goes there the wire going to the control on the steering control that goes to the shunt is not used only the battery lead from the control is used and it goes to the batt term on the reg. Make sure you have the rite reg for your gen and ithe gen is grounded to the tractor and also the case of the reg is also grounded. Your battery should be pos gnd.
