I have another that was intended to be temporary. I was changing oil in my 85 Chevy 6.2 diesel. even before this day I had noticed bottom of pan damp with oil. I had drained oil changed filter and had put 4 litres of new oil back when it hit me, I should double check that leak. I had assumed it was crank seals. Back under truck I go for closer examination. Oil dampness was on flat bottom of pan only. I cleaned it all off and began wiping with paper towel. My leak turned out to be very small cracks in oil pan. I could wipe clean and slowly oil would reappear slowly just like blood would from a slight flesh wound. It was Sat., late pm, some new oil in pan, auto parts stores all closed. What do I have on hand to use? there were 3 spots to fix. Of the number of products in my supplies, I decided gasget black in a tube would be best. I went back under truck with paper towel in one hand and some gasget black on tip of finger in other hand. I wiped each spot clean and would force gasget black into crack with finger. When I had leaking stopped I put several layers of gasget black on. This was to be a temporary measure. Five years and a 100,000 miles later in 2001 I sold the truck, and it had never leaked again.

That was 10 years before I was born, so I grew up thinking that 8N was the world's best tractor. Grandpa had greenhouses, with over half an acre under glass, and that 8N did almost everything. It was the only
