Cripes, my bushhog has had a mixture of grease and oil for YEARS. Every spring for the first little bit of mowing I fill it with used motor oil to flush out any crud, then refil with grease and 90w140, but mostly grease. Tried axle grease too, works good but harder to get in the little fill hole.
