Matt you definitely have a loose rod or worn piston pins. At least pick up a connect rod bearing set and replace all 4 rod bearing sets then fire her up again and see if that eliminates the noise or not. 45 foot pounds is the correct torque on the connecting rod bolts. And don't forget to bend the locking tabs back down! If the old bearings show a lot of wear, you better replace the main bearings while your at it.
