Kev - That's a common problem with single wire alternators, and is why I don't like using them. Apparently the design of the internal regulator requires a small, constant current draw which will flatten a good battery after a week or two of standing idle. Curiously not all single wire alternators do this - sounds like your's does however.

You can try replacing the internal regulator with another one (must be a regulator intended for "single wire" operation of course) and see what happens. Or swap it out for 3-wire alternator setup. Or simply pull the ground wire off the battery after you shut down at the end of the day!!
