Darin, I Goofed around with my H for a few years trying to keep it 6v. Replacing all the cables, rebuilding the starter, rebuilding the generator, buying a new battery each year. And still, as soon as the temp got below 50 you could forget it. I changed to 12volt and would do it again in a second. My tractor started every time this subzero winter to plow snow. With the 6v i had to buy the expensive 6 volt charger. Whenever the battery crapped out i was not near an outlet or anything that runs on 6 volt. When i went to buy the battery, the parts stores had exactly one choice and it did not fit the battery box and i did't have any choice for price. Notice that tractor for sale ads always note the change over to 12volt as a plus. And that this site has whole links to 12 volt conversion for all brands for a reason. good luck.
