D.S., try what Dave_ID suggested, it is well worth the effort. If it doesn't work got to your local auto supply and ask for a HELI-COIL. The heli-coil is like a set of threads that will wind their way in on the damaged threads, you may have to tap it out larger, but once the heli-coil is in place the fuel strainer will screw back in like new. You will need to know the size of the existing hole and they can set you up with the correct size heli-coli, with instructions, hopefully you won't need to do this but it does work as good a snew....Mike in Exeter Ontario
