Water in the Oil !

I have a 1950 Farmall C, and when I recently checked the oil I found water in the oil. The first time I noticed this I went a head and emptied the oil. And put new oil in, just to make sure. Now there is water in the oil again. This would lead me to think that the head gasket is shot. Is that right? Are there any other causes of water in the oil? Anything I should know before start taking it apart?
