How long since your C has had a "tune up"(pluggs, wires, dist cap, etc)? I've seen pluggs with good spark out in the open but won't fire when you need them. This is especially true when the engine is cold. Also, is your gas fresh or has it been in there all winter? Good Luck. Dave.
