JD: I think what your saying is true all the way from here to Kansas. Here in SW Ontario, I am told by locals we had the most vicious winter in 20 years. Three weeks ago I mentioned to a friend," Since Nov 7 you could count in hours, the length of time we have been above freezeing, no need to use term days in factoring that one." We had a lot of snowey nasty weather, but no amount of snow. I was driving a log truck, once you got through drift at side of highway there was hardly a corn or soybean field you couldn't cross no snow plowing needed. Tandem trucks with tandem trailers and an air lift axle on each aren't much of a snow vehicle. When the melt did come it all went in two days. Kind of a mixed blessing, that fast run off occured with ground frozen, however soil didn't retain much of that water. I don't think we are as bad off as you. I however, don't think you will find anyone between here and Kansas that will tell you they have an abundance of water. I also think you could take quite a wide swath between here and Kansas, and get same results.
