I have a 706 that has been in my machine shed for 4 weeks, yet I do not know the owner. I laugh at the mere thought of it. Just appeared one day. I glanced at it while driving the 856 and wondered "What is the 826 doing here?" But it had a fast hitch and round fenders. Believe it is a friend of mine's, but I haven't been able to talk to him. Because it is in my shed, i decided I have the liberty of at least starting it and hearing it. Has glowplugs, but I can't seem to get them to work correctly. Won't continue warming for more than a second. Straight cranking gets smoke, and had two "puffs" inside the engine of a somewhat fire, but never went. What can I do? It is rather beat up, but if it IS my friends, I know he said his was mechanically sound. Engine looks okay. Tempting to squirt it with ether, probably would jump right off, but I know that is a no-no with glow plugs. Let me know so I can at least hear the mystery tractor run.
