Jerry! Hugh is right, Ferguson may have invented but IH perfected it it should work like this. Say you want to plow and with the 544 say fully mounted set that draft lever about half way back, then let the plow down in the ground with the other lever and move that lever all the way down to the notch. If the plow goes to deep move the draft lever back a little or if it does not go deep enough move forward a little, if you come to a hard spot pull the draft lever back a little. It all works off of how hard the plow pulls, so it you come to a sandy spot you may have to pull the draft lever back so the plow dose not go to deep. The other lever is just for raise and lowering at corner or ditch, head lands. If you leave the raise and lower lever part way back it will over ride the draft and it can not work right. I saw this when IH came out with system and that is wrong way to use it. Hope this help some.
