I actually did find it a little awkward, but resting the rear of the tank on the instrument panel and the grill on the back of the tractor, I was able to do the work and test run the tractor. I also have a fuel filter that holds enough gas to test the engine. But the Cub was designed to work and work well. Once you get one running, there is no need to remove the hood. And this is the ONLY engine I've ever worked on where I could change the plugs with a box-end wrench. ( I'm sure there are others. ) I love it.
