the draft control helps maintain the depth of in-ground equipment, lifts the plow as the wheels spin into the ground in a soft area. set the control all the way down, get the plow into the ground at the depth you want, then pull the control back slowly till it starts to raise the plow, then back off just a little and drop the depth control on down, the draft control will keep the plow from going too deep, but, it will only lift the plow so far if you start spinning in
