I have fixed this problem on several Hs.. Sometimes you can get by cheap with new detent springs and balls, and sometimes you have to replace the gear, main shaft, shift fork, detent springs, detent balls. inspect every part carefully, and make sure to look for any type of wear on the main shaft. If the gear likes to "walk" out of place you may have to replace the main shaft (my experience). detent balls and springs can be bought at your case ih dealer. If you need any new gears, shafts, or shift forks, send me a email, as I will have NOS ones available.
