That has happened to me a few times also, but I came up with a way to cure the problem. Strike while the iron is hot! Buy it, get a reciept and move it the same day and as soon as possible after the cash is handed over.If you get it off of thier property such as to load it out on the road they no longer have a say and if they hand you back the money, you can just say, no thanks I want the tractor. If you don't have a trailer with you, you can drag it down the road to a neigbors house(make sure they aren't related) and ask if you can store it there for a little bit, BUT get back there fast!
