Paul: I have Super A, 130 and 140. I just got the 140 so I don't know what is in there. There is gear oil in my Super A and 130. I can't see any difference in those gear boxes or contents. Since I have almost 30 gal. of gear oil I bought 15 years ago, and from the price CaseIH charged me for 10 litres of hy-tran the other day. I would say gear oil will be going in 140 as well as the other 2. I find these little tractors run a lot quieter with gear oil and like CK said no clashing of gears. If tractor has been idleing and you get on to move, when you push clutch in gears stop turning sooner with gear oil in there. I notice also from stains 140 likes to leak as well as the SA or 130. I would go with the heavier oil.
