Owww! My Head

Just my luck, I had anitfreeze dripping down the side of the block on my 504. Thought the head gasket was bad. No prob easy job. I got everything torn down and cleaned up, got ready to clean the top of the cyl head... lo and behold there is a big pile of JB weld type stuff. Started peeling it away and just as expected a nice long crack between cyl 2-3.
Anyone ever have luck welding a cyl head? From what I see of it so far.. a weld shouldn't be interfering with the valves or springs. I looked in my tractor supply book but I can't find a rebuilt head for a 504 Gas. Guess I'll just have to wait until the IH dealer opens tomorrow.
