There is a plate like a hinge that surrounds the chrome shaft. The notched rod hits the hinge plate and then the plate hits the small 1/8" button or peg that stops the cylinder movement. It is slightly different than the implement cylinder with the 2 piece hose clamp stop although the small peg is very similar. Incidently there was a remote gauge available that mounted by the dash that was connected to the cylinder by a mechanical cable that showed your depth. Heath
