Hy-Tran in 350?

I need to service the hydraulics in my Farmall 350 since it is acting flaky and it probably hasn't been done in a coons age. I have a 5 gallon bucket of Hy-Tran on hand. Is it OK to use it in the 350? I have the owners manual for the 350, but if I should find gunk in the breather or strainer, I am unclear how to actually clean them. What's the best solvent to use that won't cause trouble for the hydraulics?
