Hello Mike, --- 17 / April / 2003 --- 1. Every IH motor has a SERIAL NUMBER - on block - up front, usualy under # 1 spark plug. There is a raised area ( 1/4 in. and 3/4 in wide by 2 ins. long / machined smooth). The paint and grease would have to be removed (paint remover would work) to see the S #'s. 2. There is a fellow from Germany, Matthias Buschmann, who has a WEB SITE "www.ihcneuss.de" , and it is in both German and English. He has a complete listing of the German made IH motors and what tractors they go in, also about 4 or 5 pages of IH tractors made in Germany. 3. On that motor SERIAL NUMBER, always give the complete serial number, including PREFIX LETTER's and SURFIX LETTER's (if there is any). Give this to M. Buschmann. 4. Matthias Buschmann's E-Mail is "matbush@freenet.de" Milton
