Line up the hitch first. The center of the plow's effective working width needs to line up with the center of the tractor to have the plow pull straight. Find the center of the plow's center lay and establish a straight line forward from that point. With a little luck, one of the plow frame rails will be there. You can use a string, chalk line, or paint stripe on the ground if you have to. That line should go through the center of the plow's tongue and the plow's tongue should be hitched to the center of the tractor drawbar. Hopefully, the plow hitch will have already been set up properly by its previous owner. After doing all that, you will be able to see how far in or out to set the right tractor tire.
