Hi Bill, I talked to an old time IH dealer and he said sometimes when they would get a "trade in" they would paint it red to help sell it. Some times the old grey paint was just plain bad and the dealers had red sitting on the shelves. I guess that might be where the used car dealer term "Retail Red or Resale Red" came from.
